PALM SPRINGS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The next Toddler Storytime Series has been scheduled and is now taking registrations. We will meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:00-11:00 from January 24 – March 13, 2012.  You can register by calling the library (965-2204), by emailing Ms. Mary Helen or by asking to register at the main desk.

Here are the themes planned for the spring:

       January 24        All about me!

       January 31        I am growing

       February 7        My neighborhood

February 14      Me and my family

February 21      I love animals: at home (pets)

February 28      I love animals: wild animals

March 6             I love animals: farm animals

       March 13           Spring Stories

Toddler Story Times are designed to show parents how easy and enjoyable it can be to build your child’s vocabulary and pre-reading skills by reading and talking about books, and by sharing and repeating rhymes, songs and finger plays. Research says that before a child can learn to read, she or he must have 1,000 books read to her or him.  Fortunately, that includes each re-reading of a favorite book!
If you cannot attend Toddler or Preschool Storytime, we would like to invite all children 2  years and up to Bedtime Storytime. Please check the link at the left for more information.

This program is for children from 12 to 30 months of age with a parent or caregiver. We read a few picture books, sing songs and do finger plays and action rhymes. It is also an opportunity for parents to connect with other parents with children of similar age as well as a beginning socialization activity for the children. We ask that you register before the program starts by calling Ms. Mary Helen at (561) 434-5104.
